Just a little bit too much

It's just becoming far too easy to find fault but this
juxtaposition is too much for even my iron constitution. Granted, there is perhaps an arguement about providing aid using different means. Even so, one would have thought that somebody might have put a rather better PR spin on this.
On the other hand, perhaps GW just couldn't give a rat's arse. Yet again, if Georgy Porgy can't take care of social support in the US, it's a little bit too much to expect him to pay any attention to these kids a million miles away.

This is driving me nuts. Especially since my rich nation chooses to put its wealth into killing locals instead of feeding them. And then claiming the moral high ground.

Well, yes. The loonies have taken over the asylum. But GW isn't the issue, perhaps. It's the--what?--40% of the country that thinks it's all well and good? And the industries that make it rewarding to think/believe/act that way.
I imagine that it's academic to argue that say GW is better or worse that say Mugabe.
But what frustrates me the most? That you, Sasha, and all the other wonderful people; Wheezus, Badger, Bug and so on--that you (I after all, am somewhat on the fringe here)--that you have this conversation, this frankly incestuous conversation and then what? Drive each other nuts? It needs surely to break out somehow. I guess you could continue this ad nauseum and ratchet up the anger and perhaps disillusionment over what is after all the holy grail of western civilisation, aided and abetted by my pinpricks. To what end?
It's such a waste, such a crying shame that all your gifts, all the collective gifts of our little blogsociety don't appear (?)to be put to a more productive use.
I'm sorry, Sasha, perhaps that's a little harsh. Occasionally I try and inject a little levity here, but as tonight, I'm just angered by a sense of futility.
You're all just too valuable to spare in this nonsense.
You'll tell me if I'm missing the boat here?

Love

are you saying i'm driving you nuts?

No, you aren't missing the boat. And while my blog has a wider audience than most, which is both gratifying and frustrating, it isn't enough. I have other avenues where I can have influence, but they aren't enough either.

But I don't know what is. I could set myself on fire in front of the White House, but I'd only end up in Gitmo if I lived through it. And I might get two sentences on page B23 of the Washington Post.

You have answers? Cause I'll be the first to listen.

Hi Badge...I'm not sure to whom your q is put; if to me, good grief no! And so what if it were?

Sasha; me? Answers? Would that it were so. Far greater minds and all that.... Hell, I struggle to remember where I put my glasses.

But to start, I'm going to assume that everyone has a fully paid up membership with the Dems?

Splendid. I'm a Trotskyist. But I can't get the batteries unless I'm in Amsterdam.

Well of course I'm a fully paid up Dem. And attend meetings at my local cell. And give money to canadidates. And contribute to research and some working papers.

It's not enough though.

And Badger, I don't think it matters if you're a Dem. Sometimes you have to support the opposition to keep them upright.

Bugger. I thought I'd left 'em in the shower.
That's why it's all fuzzy.

Thanks Wheeze!
